poetry doth soothe the savage beast?

...or not, y'know, whichever fits in better for the cosmic powers that be.

I'm not sure if my sleeping schedule is getting messed up because I'm so grumpy, or if I feel grumpy because my sleeping schedule is messed up. And what to do in either case.

And yes, I'm blogging mostly to complain, because I know my family's tired of hearing about my frustrations and mood swings, and oh wait, they're the only ones I see in the summer. Now, I love my family, but right now I have no social life, and I'm horribly, tragically bored.

I'm thinking of dying my hair blue or something. Or maybe that would get me fired. Maybe I could dye just a little bit of it. In, y'know, a fun accent color? (the season's greatest flavors, now in hair dye! Hey, it's no dumber than 10 ways you can help prevent the end of the world)

The X-files is kind of eerily fascinating. I keep wondering if there's a meta-plot, and if it ever reached resolution, or if the show got cancelled before it could. Anybody know?

'K loves. I guess that's all. I miss everybody.

X-Files does indeed have a metaplot. But it gets weird. Even for the X-Files.

From what I understand (I never got into the show that much--something I've been meaning to do for a while now), for most of the show's earlier seasons they switched between stand-alone episodes and ones that focused mainly on the meta-plot. As the show went on, the Alien plot became more and more important, and reached it's climax in the X-Files movie.

But then Fox (the Network, not the Agent) decided that they should keep the show running, despite the fact that the main lead (David Duchovny; "Mulder") left, along with many of the original writers. The show went on for 2 more seasons like this, and--by all accounts--sucked; mostly due to the introduction of two new X-files agents, meant to replace the originals. This didn't provide a ratings boost as hoped, and the show was cancelled at the end of the 9th season. Duchovny returned for the finale, which ended on currently-unresolved cliffhanger. There have been rumors of a continuation film or miniseries, but these have proven to be just that--rumors.

So to answer your question, yes and no. They resolved many of the ongoing plots (including the main Alien conspiracy one), but ultimately ended unresolved. Pretty tragic, if you ask me.

I seem to be starting a habit of posting rather large explanations of geeky things in the comments of blog posts. I shudder to think of where this trend leads.

Don't dye your hair blue; Messiah official-type-peoples would be rather unhappy at that, I imagine. Wait 'til August (six weeks) and get a henna tattoo with me. Seriously. Loves!
